About Me
Co-Founder and Lead Consultant
Aspen Florence has been an educator in Utah for the past 21 years. She taught Special Education for ten years in the K-12 setting. She worked as a behavior specialist for five years and was the Director of Student Advocacy for two years in the Ogden School District. Aspen works as a consultant providing professional learning and coaching nationally. She also works for the Utah State Board of Education specializing in student attendance. She also teaches M.Ed Special Education and Leadership Courses at Weber State.
Areas of Expertise
SEL: Aspen has worked closely with Panorama Education to create and implement SEL based practices in Utah to ensure students are holistically educated. She is an expert in SEL implementation and is knowledgeable in the CASEL framework, Panorama Education survey tools and platform, Second Steps social skill implementation, Yale RULER implementation, and Skill streaming. She is STAR Trauma Certified, is a member of the Panorama National Advisory Board, and is certified in restorative practices.
Behavior: Aspen is Safe and Civil School trained in Advanced Classroom Management, CHAMPS, and Low-Level interventions. She is an expert in Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS) and supports districts and schools at setting up the structure for Tiered Systems of Support. She is proficient in collecting and evaluating behavior data (SIS and Educators Handbook).
